Finally, a new fine dining restaurant for Aiden Byrne?

Over the past couple of weeks there have been whiffs of a potential new offering from Mr Aiden Byrne. We know he was looking for a Pastry chef and the position is a Monday to Friday position for a 32 seater restaurant & that the widely touted purchase of The White House in Prestbury had been halted due to, as Mr Bryne put it on Twitter..

Too Expensive

With time ebbing away from us to get the story out, we contact Hillbark Hotel on the Wirral, the rumoured site for Mr Byrne’s new venture. Hmmmm nobody on site from management was available to comment, although we were told that the deal had been done sometime ago by another source.

This is not the first time Contessa Hotels have hired a former Michelin starred chef for this site, in October 2009 they hired Michael Riemenschneider. After a £1 million pound investment in the culinary operations and re-naming of their restaurant they then soon parted company with Mr Riemenschneider some 3 months later. A source close to the hotel didn’t rate the Swiss born chef who has had a string of misfortunes behind him.

In an interview for a local blog…

Above all, Aiden would love to earn himself another Michelin Star, and the first for his restaurant in Lymm, The Church Green. The star is awarded for the whole dining experience therefore includes both the level of the food and the service. Once a star is awarded it stays with the establishment, therefore the star would stay with The Church Green.

So there it is, Mr Byrne will finally have his own eponymous restaurant opening within May we reckon.
